My heart is heavy this morning.
I got word last night that a friend had passed away. The Wolf Man was around two decades older than I, but we were kindred souls.
We shared a lot of interests, and a lot of the same political views.
Unfortunately, this is the second time I am having to grieve him, as he suffered a series of serious strokes a few years ago that significantly changed him, though some of his personality still poked through.
He made progress in his stroke recovery, however, he went on to develop esophageal cancer, which eventually claimed his life. He was doing pretty well, until he wasn’t it.
We got word from his wife, P, that he was starting to be unwell on Friday, and that he wasn’t expected to make it through the weekend. Unfortunately, the doctors were right.
I feel terrible for P, losing him all over again. I know that I will miss our conversations and our friendship.
2021 has been a brutal year on the people I know, losing several people at the end of September and beginning of October, and now losing Wolf. Though, of all the losses, this one is probably the most impactful.

I just hope 2021 is done with shenanigans. I don’t know how many more people I can stand to bury.
Go with God my friend.
Kevin
