With work slowing down a bit this week, I have turned towards my studies.
I am approaching the half way mark on both my Communications and my Prose Forms classes.
All told, I probably have about another ten to twelve weeks of work to get through for each course, though if I take advantage of downtime, I may get them finished sooner. I am feeling confident that I will get the Communications done well before the contract end date. For the Prose Forms, I’m definitely going to be pushing it.
Still, I’m not stressing about it. I’ve managed to really sharpen my time management skills over the last little while, and I’m managing to make some forward progress on both courses just about every day, as well as getting some work done.
As far as my work with the paper goes, I think I have found a good balance between work and studies, at least for the time being. I have to admit though, if I were offered a more permanent position, I would definitely give it a good hard think.
Aside from schoolwork, I worked the store today, then had to head over to the town’s baseball diamonds, where our local U18 baseball team is hosting the Provincial finals this weekend. Though the first game was played this afternoon, opening ceremony of the tournament was held in the evening. The teams were introduced, the national anthem was played, and the mayor said a few words. A local family threw the ceremonial first pitch. All in all, it was nice.
With the local team not playing during the evening, Lynn and I met up at the golf course club house for our usual Friday date night. I have to admit, I am really liking the food there, and the prices are reasonable too. I’ll be sad when the club house closes for the season.
This evening, since Lynn had some work to finish off at the church, I headed home, fed the critters, and played some Playstation for a bit while supper settled, before heading down stairs and hitting the treadmill for an hour. I have to admit, since I’ve been back into the workout regime over the last few weeks, I’ve been feeling a lot more at peace, even with how busy I’ve been.
The health benefits have been paying off as well. My blood pressure is the lowest it has been in I don’t know how long, and the effort is starting to show at the waistline. I’m still not dropping weight as I easily as I would like, though I know my medication regime isn’t helping any in that regard. The one med I’m on is notorious for being a weight gainer.
I know how good I am feeling right now, and I’m really working on staying in this place, mentally. I just need to keep it up.

Thanks for following along.
