Pulling back into my 3 ft. world…

I’d like to thank the new followers on this blog. I appreciate the support, and am encouraged by the slow growth I’ve been having.

After some deliberations, I’ve decided to press pause on my YouTube channel, instead focusing on my blog here. While I still intend to start filming later on in the year, at the moment my schedule is busy enough between work, school, and my photography. I’d love to start filming some content for my channel, I just feel that right now is not the time, and doing so would only proceed to spread myself out even more.

It’s not a decision I make lightly, however it is one that needed to be made, particularly with the hectic week I have this week. I had intended to do a video for mid-month, however with everything that’s popped up on the radar, I wouldn’t be able to put out anything with the quality I would want.

Still, I truly believe that 2021 will be a big year for my, both personally and professionally. I just need to make sure I don’t over-do things, as I am apt to do.

I need to refocus myself on my three-foot world. I need to focus on what’s immediately surrounding me, and while I need to keep my long-term plans, I need to focus on the short term plans which will get me to those long-term goals.

Not jumping into YouTube, yet, isn’t a bad thing. I’m actually taking it as another sign of growth, that I’m not letting myself pile too much on. Believe me, for me that is huge. I have a long history of taking on too much, and driving myself into the ground. I consider the fact that I am pulling back to be a positive.

The fact is, my goals for this year are to grow my brand, and grow my business. While the YouTube plans are part of that, I have a lot of other things that I need to do in the meantime. I need to keep working on my studies. I need to work on my photography. I need to continue learning the software that is going to be a big part of where I am going with my photography and videography. I also need to keep working on my physical health. Everything is part-and-parcel.

I’m starting to realize that life isn’t about rushing things, but enjoying the journey. Things will happen in the time they are meant to. I’d rather work on and be competent at my skills instead of rushing and half-assing things.

This blog has been a major part of my mental health recovery, and it’s not going anywhere, even if my posting schedule is not as frequent than it used to be. I hope that it continues to offer hope and encouragement for anyone dealing with mental illness. I know it’s not always a fun read, but it is important.

Thanks you everyone for following along.
