Today has been another steady day, though with this heat wave we are in I had a hard time shaking the lead out of my ass this morning.
I don’t know why, but I just had a hell of a time dragging myself into the office today. Still, I managed to get a couple of stories written, a banner designed for Lynn for the store’s Facebook page, and got some more reading done for my assignment.
In and around all of that, I got a workout in. I went at a slightly slower pace than my last distance jaunt on the treadmill, but extendd my time a couple of minutes and still achieved my two miles.
Even with my basement gym being cooler than the main floor of the house, I still had sweat pouring off me during the workout. It felt good though. I’m definitely happy that I’ve been making my workouts a priority again.
To help assist with my fitness goals, I ended up purchasing a Fitbit Charge 4. My previous fitness tracker with a heart rate sensor ended up developing a short and frying. I had another one without a heart rate sensor, but found myself missing it, When I’m on the treadmill I like working out to my heart rate instead of just picking my pace. This allows me to get tailor my workout to the given day, and will provide more steady results in the long run.
The first workout with the new tracker didn’t go as smoothly as it could have, but that’s not unexpected. I need to work over the next couple workouts to get it placed in the optimal spot on my wrist to get the most accurate heart rate.
I know I am doing well at the moment, despite the load I’m carrying, and right now it’s just a matter of keeping myself focused on the end goals. I need to drop some weight for my health. I need to keep plugging away at my schooling, to continually improve myself. I need to make sure I have some time set aside with Lynn. I need to maintain my consistency with work. Outside of all that, things are irrelevant.
