Media Wednesday: Game review-Star Wars Jedi:Fallen Order

My long awaited review of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is here.

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order takes place in the two decade gap between Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: A New Hope in the Star Wars timeline. You play as Padawan Cal Kestis as he follows the trail of a Jedi master who hid a list of the locations of Force sensitive younglings, a list that the Galactic Empire is also interested in acquiring. Cal is aided by a former Jedi who cut herself off from the Force, a droid belonging to the Jedi master who’s steps he is retracing, and a disgruntled pilot.

The gameplay reminds me of the Uncharted series, a series that set the bar for platform gaming. The controls take a bit of getting used to, but they are very responsive.

I do find that I have to remind myself sometimes to use the characters Force abilities, abilities which develop as the game progresses.

I have yet to finish the game, but so far the story is intriguing, the list of younglings being the MacGuffin that drives the story, and the Empire and it’s inquisitors providing challenging adversaries.

The few hours I’ve played of the game so far tell me that it is a worthy addition to the Star Wars name. The game was developed by Respawn Entertainment and Published by Electronic Arts in the fall of 2019.

Overall, I give the game 7/10
