Bouncing back amid the grind…

I’m starting to bounce back a bit, mentally speaking.

It’s been a rough few weeks, and mentally I’ve been near my limits. Emphasis on near, but not at them. I’ve been maintaining, surprisingly well considering everything that’s gone on.

Mood wise, I think I’m actually starting to rebound.

A few of my soft-tells are showing me how well I am doing.

First, my creative juices are starting to flow again. I’ve actually spent some time writing again, which has been good. I’m starting to develop some develop some new characters, and generally work on my fiction.

Secondly, I’m feeling lighter. Despite the lazy day I had today, I’m feeling a bit more energetic. I’ve been puttering with dishes and doing some cooking. This morning I even made some waffles, something I haven’t done for quite awhile.

Third, I’m despite the fact that I’ve been sleeping longer than I would like, I’m actually feeling like I’m getting rest when I sleep.

These soft tells are a good indicator of how I am really doing, but I have to admit that things have not been easy. This “social distancing” that we are all having to do because of the pandemic is definitely getting old. The thing is, there is no indication that these requirements will lifted any time soon, so what can you do. Things are what they are, there’s nothing we can do about it.

I’m happy with how productive I have managed to be so far during this fiasco. I’ve been working on my photography, my school work, and the few random stories I’ve been able to figure out for my actual work. Under the circumstances, I’m doing the best I can under trying times, and that’s all any of us can do.

The next few weeks is going to be a grind. I know this. The next few weeks are going to be a grind, but we will make it through.
