Busy with goals…

Our theatre performance has finished for another year.

With my involvement in practises running since January and the eight recent performances, it’s been a buys few weeks.

It’s been a nice diversion, but truth be told, I’m kind of glad that it’s wrapped. It has been a big commitment of time and energy, and now it’s time to set my goals for further down the road.

Work-wise, this is upcoming week looks like it could be pretty busy again. I have two council meetings to start the week, as well as school to work on. Throw in a trip to Red Deer for Lynn’s surgical consult, and an EMS ride-along with our local ambulance service, and it appears I won’t be having much in the way of downtime this week.

It’s all good, though. I feel like I’m doing something meaningful at the moment, and that is a good feeling to have.

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about the prospect of going back on ambulance again. It’s been a long time since I worked in that life, and the last few times I’ve been in an ambulance have been as a patient. I know that I’m not going in as a responder, and I will be there in strictly an observational capacity, but that hasn’t stopped my mind from doing laps with worry. A good part about this, though, is that if it gets to be too much, I can bow out without anyone thinking any less of me.

I know I’ve been struggling in recent weeks, and doing this ride along is one more stressor, but I can’t help but feel that overall I’m doing so much better than I was and this ride along will give me an opportunity to put some of my resiliency skills to the test.

Looking further ahead, work and school will both be getting busier for me, and the doctor from the centre is planning on bringing me in for an admission in another 3-4 weeks.

After that, we’ll be into April and the challenges it will have for us.
