I’m feeling sore and stiff tonight, but overall pretty good.
I’ve had a general body ache for a few days, especially in my calfs since I hopped on the treadmill again the other day.
However, despite the aches, pains, and body protests, I hit the treadmill for a 30 minute workout today. I’m a little disappointed in myself. I’ve significantly fallen off the pace I used to be able to keep a few short months ago.
That’s the bad news. The good news is I am making an effort to reverse course. I’m planning to ease back into things, slowly building back to where I was in the summer. I’m hoping that setting a target of February to do that is realistic for a start. I don’t have to necessarily have dropped the weight I’ve picked up by then, but I would definitely like to make inroads in the blood pressure and blood sugar issues that have been vexing me.
I have to admit, it was awesome to get back moving again. Even though I didn’t hit my step count today, I’m moving in the right direction again, and step count isn’t everything. Getting the heart-rate up and sweating is as important. I just really need to make working out to be as much of a priority as work and school, and to be honest, since I can’t squeeze anymore minutes into the day, I need to start backing off on the other two things to make sure I fit this crucial piece into my mental wellness plan.
Speaking of work and school, I was invited to attend and cover a seniors safety day in my community. It was interesting, and definitely gave lot’s to mull over, for seniors and younger people alike.
After the event, I did my workout and then managed to get a good couple hours of studying and writing in. I started on assignment five this evening, and if things work out the way I’m planning, I should have it ready for submission by the end of the week. That will leave me three assignments left, and my goal is to get at least this one and one more submitted before Christmas.

Tomorrow I’m covering our local county council meeting, then packing up and hitting the road tomorrow afternoon. I have two days of training scheduled in Nisku on Wednesday and Thursday.
