David Goggins is a motivational person that I have managed to connect with more than any other speaker or writer I have followed.
He’s honest.
He’s raw.
He makes me ask the question “How far can I go?”
His book “Can’t Hurt Me” is full of challenges, and pitfalls. In it he speaks how he overcame when everyone said he couldn’t.
He owns his mistakes, and savours his successes.
I finished reading his book this morning, and have to say that finishing it, I have tons of respect for this man I’ve only met through his book and interviews.
He is flat out the most motivational speaker I’ve ever listened to.
In his book, he chronicles his childhood of abuse. and bullying, his entry into the military, and his fall afterward. He speaks about barely hanging on, and needing to make a change, and reinventing himself in order to make the change.
Even though my past differs significantly from his, I find him easy to relate to. Between genetics and and environment, I suffered trauma as well, and though I lived through it, I never learned to live past it.
His insights have helped me navigate my own journey, and for anyone seeking a good motivational read I recommend his book. It will challenge the way you look at the world, and the way you challenge yourself.
I know my life will still have struggles, but reading this has left me feeling better prepared to deal with the struggles ahead.
It’s helped me redefine my limits as starting points to build on success. My rating for the book is 5/5.
