After a decade of build up, Marvel has concluded phase 3 of the MCU with a truly epic Avengers:Endgame.Beware, potential spoilers ahead.
Still with me?
Endgame picks up a matter of days after the Thanos snaps his fingers, eliminating half the people in the universe. The movie starts strong, and barely slows until the end credits roll. Considering it’s a three hour movie, that is something of an accomplishment in itself.
Unlike the previous Avengers movies, at it’s core Endgame is heist movie, with the heist being pulled off by the superheroes, all in the hopes of being able to reverse the snap.
Without going into deep details, the movie did bring back many characters from previous MCU movies Endgame tugged at the heartstrings as well. With. the contracts of several of the main actors concluding with Endgame, it wasn’t much of a secret that not all of the characters would survive the fight with Thanos the mad titan.
The characters who didn’t make it through to the end credits were written out in ways that I don’t think any fan would be able to complain about.
So, what’s next for the survivors of Endgame?
Spiderman will be back in “Far from home” later this summer. as for the others, Marvel has been tight lipped as to what phase four will bring. Needless to say though, that many of the survivors of Endgame will be back, it’s just a matter of time.
All in all, I believe that Endgame was a fitting end to what Iron Man started back in 2008, and I look forward to seeing what the next generation of heroes Marvel will be bringing to the silver screen in phase four and beyond.
If you are a fan of the genre, Endgame is definitely a must watch, and if possible on big screen, because the fights are amazing to behold.
