Well, this morning got derailed, but that’s okay.
My plan for this morning was to get a workout in and then catch up on my blog and email. Instead I had to cut the workout short because I got a phone call requesting I get some photos for the paper, and they were time sensitive. I got them done, even if it did knock my workout off for the day.
I’ve also had another editorial project asked off me, which I am excited about. I will be able to tell more about later.
This does all come back to my mental health though. There was a time when having my day interrupted like this would have thrown me off.
Instead, I’m not complaining. I like the work I do, even if it’s not full time, and when I’m well I can adapt to this kind of stuff well. When I’m not doing so well and I have a curve ball thrown at me it knocks me off, but that is a concern for another day.
I may not be able to handle the stress of a full-time job, but I like doing some work. My psychologist feels that working/writing is actually therapeutic for me. It gives me a reason to get my ass out of bed, and it beats spending all day every day playing video games.
Don’t get me wrong, I like my gaming, but I also like to feel like I’m accomplishing something.
So, for today I’m going to do some work, enjoying the day and the fact that I have managed to make work for myself in this desolate job environment, and get back into my workout routine tomorrow.
