Growth in the last year.

I can’t believe it’s been nearly a week since I wrote last.

Things have definitely been busy around here. Between running between events for the paper, theatre, and the dogs, I’ve been on the go pretty steady.

A year ago, I would not be maintaining as well as I am. A year ago, the last month would have been the catalyst to set me up for a major crash. I’m definitely feeling the strain, and am looking forward to some things backing off a bit.

The theatre has two shows left, on this coming Friday and Saturday, then that will be done for the season. Lynn arrived home early this morning as well, so between the two of us we will be able to get back on top of things at home and the store.

I’m definitely un-amused about her trip home. She was scheduled to leave her mom’s on the train on Monday evening, yet her train didn’t arrive to pick her up until noon yesterday. Through a further series of delays, her 12 hour trip ended up extending to 19 hours. I didn’t pick her up from the train in Viking until 7 a.m. today.

With how much stress I’ve been under in the last month, it would not totally surprise me to see myself going inpatient again sometime in the next few months. At least this would be more of a stress-relief than anything else. I hope it doesn’t come down to that, but if it does, so be it.

That being said, aside from feeling run down, mentally I have been keeping it together. Even M my psychologist is happy with how I am doing in that regard, and he just cautioned me to look after myself and not overextend.

I’m happy that Lynn is home, and the dogs were ecstatic when she walked in the door this morning as well. Taffy and Rolo haven’t left her side since she got home.

Today is a day of rest and catch up for me today. I’m so far behind in my to do pile for work that it’s not even funny. But, it’s been helping keep my mind occupied anyways. For me, that’s a life-saver.

Looking at the path forward, I know that some days will be better than others. I also know that whatever happens I am in better shape to weather any storm that comes my way. I have the support of friends and family. I have a safety plan which I have been following. I have an awareness of myself that I know when things are sliding, and able to take preemptive measures as a result. I’m on solid footing. That said, I’m looking forward to a “new normal” setting in again with Lynn home.

Thanks for following along.
