Another Christmas season is nearly come and gone.
For the second year in a row, we are spending the holiday season with Lynn’s mom.
This holiday season is leaving me feeling introspective; I got word last week that a long-time friend from my EMS days had passed away. We hadn’t spoken much in recent years, maybe a couple of times a year, but we always talked about finding time to go grab a coffee.
Unfortunately, later turned into never; it’s now too late, and a valuable lesson was learned, as they always are when someone is taken too soon.
Don’t put off for tomorrow what you can do today. Make time for what is important today because tomorrow is not guaranteed.
I get it.
We get busy with work.
We get busy with school.
We get busy with family commitments.
The biggest fallacy of all time is there is more time.
Eventually, the sand runs out and those left behind are left to pick up the pieces and carry on.
I will miss my friend, and my heart breaks for his family feeling his loss this Christmas. They have many firsts ahead without their patriarch.
The loss and the season have also made me think about a few other things, namely the direction of this page and my photography.
Between work, school, and family considerations, my photography has taken a definite backseat in 2024. I’ve only managed a handful of posts throughout the year, and I think I managed to get out for one wildlife drive all year.
Other things have taken precedence, and generally, life has gotten in the way. While there is nothing I can do to change the past, I can work to change the future.
I need to revitalize this website and my photography.
I also need to finish off my current course for school, but that’s another story altogether.
2025 needs to be a year of change and growth.
I appreciate everyone who has followed along with the journey so far.

Stay tuned.
And Merry Christmas from my family to yours.
Kevin
