The last week has been busy.
Since I was helping cover for someone’s holiday at a different office last week, I ended up with just about full-time hours, which I am not complaining about.
Despite the work schedule though, I managed to dig in and get some serious work done on my third assignment for my Communications a course, a 2700-word essay basically eviscerating the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission and the federal government on their handling of the media sector in the country over the last three decades.
In a surprisingly fast turn around, my course-tutor graded my assignment overnight, and the assignment, which was turned in Sunday evening, was graded by the time I woke on Monday morning with a score of 95 per cent. That is a mark I was quite happy with.
With that assignment done, I have two more modules to finish before I write my final exam for the course, which I am aiming to do around the middle of December.
As far as work goes, this week has been significantly lighter than last week, so far. I’ve had a couple of meetings to cover, and a few stories to write so far. If things stay on pace for the rest of the week, I should be on pace for my usual workload again.
I’m feeling a little rough, as with how busy I have been I haven’t really made the opportunity to workout, and I am definitely feeling it. I did actually get on the treadmill last night for a bit though, which felt good. Since it’s been a few weeks now, I’m going to try to ease back into things, every other day on the treadmill for a couple weeks before I bring the weights back into things.
Otherwise, I’m feeling good though. I’m feeling optimistic. I’m enjoying my new role with the paper. I’m learning a lot, and I’m feeling motivated.
