For the first time in longer than I care to think about, I got out into the back-country and took some photos.
While I was on the hunt for hawks or owls, neither of which materialized, I still had a good time and managed some good shots. I ended up doing a swing through some of my usual areas in the western region of the county I live in.

Despite the wildlife of the avian variety being sparse, I did get some photos of cattle, bison, geese, and some scenery. I also managed to be in the right place at the right time for a nice shot of the sun with clouds in front of it. I added the vignette to the photo in post in order to really draw the eye to the sun, the focus of the photo.
The afternoon was a good opportunity to really play with the new Sigma 150-600 lens I picked up on sale a couple months back, and I have to admit, despite the thing being a heavy bastard, it takes great photos and was worth the expense. All the shots I took today I took with the new lens.

I really need to make a note to myself to get out taking pictures more, because it really helps fill my cup. It’s been way too long since my last outing, and it was something I definitely missed.
The day wasn’t all play however. I ended up having to do some work related stuff, including a couple of interviews for next weeks edition of the paper. I can’t go into much detail about the interviews, but I can say that the one interview I did was an interview of the lifetime, and I feel blessed that I was able to do it for my small town paper.
The fatigue hasn’t been as bad today as it was yesterday and Sunday, though I am definitely still feeling it. I think though that perhaps I am pushing through it. I hope so, because it’s sucked so far.
Still, all I can do is give it time. I’m just grateful that my mental health has remained stable through all of this.
Thanks for following along,
Kevin
