Today was the final real “down” day I’m going to have for at least a week.
I slept in a bit, then went to work processing photos from yesterday’s hockey, then I ran sound for this morning’s church service.
After church we did our usual lunch thing with church friends, then back home where I did another half-hour of processing.
Later this afternoon and this evening we spent with friends in Halkirk who’d invited us over for supper. We played a new version of UNO, the old classic game of Clue, and then a game of Life. Life is way different than I remember from the game I played in my youth.
All in all, it was not a bad day, even if Lynn did balk at wanting to go. It was my friend’s wife and I who set this up, and apparently he wanted to cancel too, but his wife and I pressed on, and in the end we all had a great time, eating homemade burgers and fries for supper.
I’m glad we did this, because the next week is going to be brutal.
Monday, I have a work thing, and writing group in the evening, and in between I need to work on getting stuff ready for me to take off at the end of the week.
Tuesday, I have a morning meeting, then taking the car in for a check up in the afternoon, before theatre practise that night.
Wednesday morning, coffee with a friend, then covering the store for Lynn while she’s at a doctors appointment, before heading home to take an ESL teaching course.
Thursday, I’m covering the store, then having my own doctors appointment, then a supper meeting and packing Thursday night.
Friday morning I head for Regina, for my weekend photography workshop I’ve registered for.

It’s going to be a busy week, but I know I can handle it. I’m just going to have to dig deep, and keep putting one foot in front of the other. I know that being this busy for the next few days will be draining for me, but I also know it’s worth it in the end.
